UM Ashek has the experience and expertise in exploring ideas, developing disruptive strategies and entering new markets. He established fast-growing sweater company named ‘Annesha Style Limited’.
As an entrepreneur, U M Ashek raised several export-based sweater factories where about 6 thousand people are working, and their soul hearted efforts are bringing better prospect for these industries gradually. From 1988 to 1996, he spent eight years in Japan where he engaged himself with different trade and industrial developments.
After returning to the country, UM Ashek started entrepreneurship jointly with his elder brother ABM Shamsuddin (Former BGMEA Vice-President, and CIP).
‘Fancy Fashions’ (now Hannan Group) was their first joint effort, an export based sweater industry. Then in 2001, he established ‘Annesha Style Limited’.
For his excellent success and contribution, he got Sher-E-Bangla Memorial Medal, Mother Teresa Gold Medal, Anannya Anti-drug Movement Award, Special Gold Medal from Dhara Social and Cultural Organization, CIP in Small Industries by the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. As part of social responsibilities, he has established ‘Annesha Research and Publications Centre’.
